First Seed

First Seed was established by Sparebankstiftelsen Hedmark and Hedmark County Municipality. The fund has a capital of NOK 100 million and is one of the largest regional seed funds in the country.

"With First Seed as an owner, we've taken the step of expanding outside of Norway," said Jon Kjetil Jutulstad, CEO of Trysil RMM. "They have been involved in negotiations for acquisitions, establishment, and development of production and distribution in new countries. We have an active board led by First Seed, and I find it very useful to have semi-weekly meetings with the management team from Skagerak Capital."

First Seed was established by Sparebankstiftelsen Hedmark and Hedmark Fylkeskommune in 2018 and Skagerak Capital has since managed the fund. The purpose of the fund is to invest in innovation and growth in Hedmark. The fund has invested in 5 of the most promising companies in Hedmark. First Seed Fund provides capital, expertise, and networks to early-stage and growth companies in Hedmark.

First Seed has contributed to better collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the development of best practices in the region. The company has co-invested and regularly communicates with most early-stage environments in the region. It also links up with potential partners in the country and abroad and shares advice and experiences with companies, investors, and other key players in the ecosystem.
